Introduction

I'm a Free Software developer living in Helsinki, Finland. I'm currently interested in user experience and open linked data.

Most of my experience is in developing software on Linux. My interests in general include programming languages, user interface concepts, technology marketing, and their integration on Internet scale. I want to adapt information technology for better usability all around the world, to advance the global human development. In 2010, I visited the OLPC deployment of Peru to support the grassroots Sugar efforts.

I've studied Computer science (esp. programming language theory and software engineering) with minors in Mathematics, Swedish and linguistics, and Technology business (esp. growth venturing). I've done research in the University of Jyväskylä (Fenfire project: graph-based user interface concepts) and in DERI, National University of Ireland, Galway (SIOC project: applying semantic web technologies to online communities such as distributed microblogging). In 2007, I co-founded a business that tried to develop a web-based database and mashup tool (long story short: we developed a prototype, interviewed for Y Combinator, couldn't continue without additional support).
